VERITAS Flat Angle Smoothing Plane
Scrapers are among the essential tools of the woodworker due to their versatility. They allow for the effective and quick creation of a clean and chatter-free surface, especially on narrow workpieces such as chair legs, paddles, tool handles, or any board edges. The most commonly used ones have flat and rounded soles.
With the concave scraper, round shapes are pre-worked so well that hardly any sanding is needed afterward. The radius of 26 mm allows for the processing of round timbers up to 52 mm in diameter.
The handles are shaped so that one can work comfortably in any position, whether pulling or pushing.
Whether the scraper is pulled or pushed: a special advantage is the comfortable thumb rest, which allows for better control when performing fine and delicate work than with a scraper where the thumb cannot be positioned properly. The adjustment screws are very precise.
Two small plastic plates in the shape of the blade are also included. When these plates are placed under the blade, the mouth of the plane is reduced - important for very fine work!
Each of these scrapers weighs 340 g and is 267 mm long.
