User manual for the Veritas Surface Clamp

Description

This clamp, which is easy and above all quick to handle, can be used with any 3/4 inch hole (19 mm). The shaft is equipped with a wedge mechanism that securely and quickly fixes the clamp in any suitable material - whether plywood or solid wood - starting from a thickness of 16 mm.

The simple and secure application makes this clamp interesting for various fixtures as well. The shaft is made of steel, the arm is made of aluminum, and the threaded screw and knurled screws are made of brass.

Application

Simply insert the shaft foot into a 19 mm hole. By turning the knurled screw at the top of the shaft, the split shaft foot is pushed apart and reliably wedges itself in the wood. You need very little force to securely fix the clamp.

Note: The wedging effect of the split shaft is enormous. It is therefore advisable to align the split shaft in the wood so that it cannot push the fibers apart. So: The wedging effect should go into the longitudinal wood and not into the cross wood!

Ensure that the hardened steel pins engage in the grooves of the shaft and then tighten the knurled screw firmly after inserting the workpiece.
