Smoothing Plane by Veritas
The Veritas basic plane is a remake of a Stanley No. 71, but with significant improvements. It is an essential tool for grooves, beads, and recesses for hinges, in short: for all tasks that require a precisely adjustable depth. The fine iron adjustment works via a fine screw that moves the iron less than one mm per turn. The depth can be fixed with a counter screw.
The additionally available stop (made of stainless steel and aluminum) can be attached to either side of the plane. One side serves as a curve stop for curved workpieces.
