Instructions on how to assemble 2 profile gauges
If you connect two profile gauges, you can increase the working length to up to 514 mm.
With the two rods, the exact width of the chisel can also be set for marking the mortise hole.
Loosen one screw for the end pieces of the two profile gauges that are to be connected using a cross-slot watchmaker's screwdriver. Make sure that the end pieces are without metal inserts, and for one template, the outer screw, and for the other template, the inner screw. After loosening the end pieces, the slats may fall out. Ensure that this does not happen by handling them carefully. Reassembling the slats is somewhat tedious!
In this image you can see the disassembled end pieces. They are disassembled in such a way that the metal connection tabs remain attached to a profile template.
Now carefully connect the two probes without end pieces and tighten the screws.
