Dowel rod cutter

With this dowel milling cutter, you can easily and effectively create dowels from your own woods in many sizes.

And here's how it's done:

  • Mount the insert sleeve in the base unit and adjust the knife for fine chip removal.
  • Prepare square strips about 1 mm wider than the desired round rod.
  • Securely mount the horizontal clamping device with a drill (unplugged!) on a stable plate and clamp the drive.
  • Plug the drill into the socket and turn it on - between 1000 and 2800 revolutions per minute, take the round rod milling device in your right hand, hold the square strip loosely in your left hand, insert the right end of the square strip into the conical opening of the insert sleeve of the milling device, then thrust both straight into the running drive.
  • Don't be startled if the square strip starts to rotate in your hand. Quickly let go of the left hand and gently and evenly press the milling device against the drill with your right hand.
  • The milled dowel will easily detach from the drive - without turning off the machine - when the apparatus is no longer pressed against it.
