The idea to use an LS-Positioner on both a self-built milling table and a Festool CBS 70 circular saw comes from our customer Walter H. from Kronau. This saves the investment for 2 milling stops by mounting a second carrier (Base) on the second machine. He also kindly provided us with pictures of his conversion. Thank you very much for that!
In the foreground, you can see the self-built milling table with an Incra milling table plate and the Incra milling stop (LS Positioner). In the background, you can see the Festool CBS 70 with the mounted Base Assembly and the INCRA crosscut and miter stop 1000HD.
Using commercially available profiles, a device was created to hold the carrier for the milling stop, which was mounted on the table saw.
Walter H. writes:
"I think the mounting of the Base on the Festool CBS 70 circular saw has been successful. This attachment is better for my small workshop than the mounting method from INCRA with the two profiles and the cross plate. The advantages of the underfloor saw are thus fully retained. At the same time, I do not need any additional support, as I have mounted the aluminum profiles (30 x 120 mm, heavy version) upright.
Now I can use the LS Positioner both at the milling table and at my table saw without restrictions! I have milled a wider groove into the table itself so that I can use the Miter 1000 HD. This is significantly more accurate and finer to adjust than the original stop from Festool. With this change, I can now cut wood faster and more accurately with confidence."
Note: Unfortunately, we cannot provide construction plans! This type of machine extension is only suitable for experienced woodworkers who also have sufficient experience in metalworking.
