Additional information about the carpenter's vise No. 52 1/2 with quick adjustment
The vise should be secured with sufficiently large screws on a plate that cannot tip over. Keep in mind that this vise weighs almost 16 kg! We recommend M12 threaded screws with hex heads for the rear holes, which are recessed from above into the plate. For the front holes (i.e., near the jaw), we recommend 12 mm thick wood screws with hex heads, screwed in from below. The heads and nuts of the screws should be equipped with washers. Details see image!
You can cover the jaws with wood after assembly without any problems if you wish. Holes are provided for this purpose on the jaws.
This is how the quick adjustment works:
Turn the wrench counterclockwise 1 1/2 to 2 times and the quick adjustment will release. Now the front jaw can be moved forward and backward as desired. When the wrench is turned clockwise 1 1/2 to 2 times, the quick adjustment will lock back in place and you can tighten it firmly.
Warning:
Do not place fingers between the jaws during quick adjustment!
