Product information
This Sjöbergs workbench is distinct from the well-known models, especially due to its tail vise spindle made of wood. The name „Original 1900” also hints at this feature.
The dog holes, which are drilled in two rows from the front vise to the rear edge, are round with a diameter of 19 mm. Correspondingly, 4 round bench dogs made from a sturdy plastic are included, which are slightly undersized at 18.7 mm in diameter, allowing them to move easily within the holes. Another round hole with a 19 mm diameter is located near the center of the workbench top. It is intended to accommodate a holdfast. Additionally, each of the front legs of the base has 3 round dog holes with a 19 mm diameter. These too are for accommodating holdfasts so that workpieces can be clamped in front of the workbench top. These holes, in combination with a holdfast, thus fulfill the function of a traditional bench slave.
The dog holes along the dog hole strip are square, measuring 19 × 19 mm. The 2 plastic bench dogs included for these have a shaft diameter of 18 × 18 mm and a head diameter of 22 × 18 mm. The head can be completely recessed into the workbench top, as the dog holes are made larger up to the head depth accordingly.
The tail vise features a classic design with a wooden spindle. This tail vise is not guided by an iron tail vise fitting but by 2 wooden guides similar to a German or Scandinavian front vise. The wooden spindle has a diameter of 45 mm.
The front vise is a somewhat lighter version of the standard Sjöberg front vise. The iron spindle has a diameter of 20 mm. The vise keys are 240 mm long with a diameter of 22 mm.
Made from European beech wood.
