Now available in a metric version, the „Wood Sabre” marking gauge from JessEm.
The marking gauge is made of high-quality stainless steel and 6061 aluminum, anodized for long-lasting durability. It can be adjusted from 0 mm to 150 mm. The cutting wheel is made of A2 steel and hardened to 60 RC. It can be retracted into the fence when not in use. The fence is just under 75 mm wide and extends 19 mm beyond the cutting wheel. This allows you to effortlessly guide the marking gauge along the workpiece.
What is new about this marking gauge is the adjustment mechanism. The shaft has laser engravings every 10 mm. With the help of the detents, you can quickly adjust the setting in 10 mm increments. The fine adjustment changes the measurement by 2 mm per revolution, and with the help of the scale, you can make changes of 0.1 mm. The window on the side of the fence has a mark every two millimeters, allowing you to read the setting. Once you have set the marking gauge correctly, simply tighten the stainless steel knurled screw to lock the measurement.
When marking mortise holes, the „Wood Sabre” marking gauge can be quickly adjusted for the second marking. Before shipping, the cutting wheel is honed and calibrated by JessEm in Canada.
The package includes a wall mount made of milled, black anodized aluminum.
The rectangular part of the fence is 75 mm wide and 25 mm high.
