Product information
With the right tool, setting the iron of a plane precisely is a breeze. Few other tools are as well-suited for this task as the adjusting hammers by Richard Wile, a woodworker from Nova Scotia.
This adjusting hammer is based on Wile’s design. It shares the same elegant proportions as the original, providing the weight and balance that just feel right in the hand. The small brass head has a diameter of only 16mm and weighs 85g. It allows for the slightest adjustments to the position of the plane iron. The other end of the hammerhead has a diameter of 20.6mm and is made of Delrin (a durable, hard plastic). It is slightly bell-shaped to better distribute the force of the strikes on wood. The handle is made of heat-treated maple and measures 276mm in length.
A tool that pleases both the hand and the eye. An excellent adjusting hammer that can be used in a variety of ways in the workshop.
Made in Canada.
