Thickness gauges are primarily used by turners to measure the thickness of bowls and vases. Of course, they are also suitable for any other hollow objects. Usage: Open the two legs of the thickness gauge and place them against the walls of the hollow object. Now turn the knurled screw until it stops, without spreading the two legs apart, then pull them apart and remove the device from the hollow object. Now measure the distance between the two tips.
