Above-average accuracy distinguishes this handy square, which certainly has the potential to become your favorite square. Veritas guarantees an accuracy of 0.001 inch per 1 inch of leg length, i.e., 0.15 mm over the entire length of 150 mm. All four edges are ground and feature both an inner and outer scale. On the short leg, in addition to the mm markings, there are also half-millimeter marks. If you click on the image, the scale is easier to see.
The matte chrome surface also allows for individual temporary additional markings with a pencil – very useful when you want to remember a specific measurement.
The round recess at the inner corner allows for precise measuring even when individual fibers stand up at the edge of the wood, for example, from sawing. The markings are etched and filled in black, making them easy to read. Since the square is light and thin, it fits into any pocket of your work jacket.
The inch version of the square also has an accuracy of 0.001 inch per 1 inch of leg length, i.e., 0.15 mm over the entire length of 6 inches. With this square, all four edges are ground and feature both an inner and outer scale. The measurement division on the long leg is 1/16 inch, and on the short leg, it is 1/32 inch.
