Product information
This stop functions similarly to a bench dog. However, it is much flatter and has a much broader clamping surface, which is especially useful for thin or narrow workpieces. The rail made of anodized aluminum is 32 mm (1-1/4 inch) wide and 248 mm (9-3/4 inch) long, and it protrudes only 5.6 mm (0.22 inch) above the workbench, allowing you to work on or plane pieces as thin as 6.3 mm (1/4 inch) without restrictions. Additionally, it provides a reliable stop for workpieces that are too narrow to clamp between two adjacent bench dogs. The two steel shafts fit into holes with a diameter of 19 mm (3/4 inch) and can be moved along the T-slot on the underside of the rail. The maximum distance (center to center) is 228 mm (9 inch).
For operations such as planing, where force is exerted only horizontally in one direction, a single stop is sufficient without additional clamping. Two stops can be arranged at right angles to each other so that two edges of the workpiece lie against them. This prevents the workpiece from rotating, which is particularly useful if the workpiece is large or if you want to plane across the grain. These stops provide a simple way to hold workpieces without the limitations of conventional clamping methods.
