The inserts reduce the opening of the base plate and support the material next to the drill, minimizing kickback and chipping. They are made of solid brass and are intended for use with a base plate mounted on the Veritas Table Top. The inserts are available for use with 1/8 inch, 1/4 inch, 3/8 inch, and 1/2 inch bits. They are secured with a 1 3/16-inch threaded ring nut. Sold separately.
