This vise guide with two spindles is the only tail vise guide that spans the entire front of the workbench while remaining parallel. The chain guide guarantees parallelism when clamping, even if only one of the two vise handles is turned.
Even better: The chain can be disengaged to allow the jaws to clamp slightly askew in a controlled manner – for not entirely parallel workpieces. Holes can be drilled in any number, allowing workpieces of the length of the workbench plus approximately 300 mm (clamping width of the vise guide) to be clamped.
To complete the vise, you must build two wooden jaws yourself. The maximum distance between the vise handles is 430 mm. For larger distances, you need the longer cover. A 38 mm drill bit is required to drill four holes! You can find these on our drill bits page!
The total length of the spindle, including the rear spindle nut and the front T-piece (for the vise handles), is 540 mm. The space required in front of the wooden movable jaw for the cover and T-piece is 120 mm.
