Product information
This dark grey to black natural Nagura stone from an underwater mine on the island of Tsushima is used to create a sharpening paste on the surface of the whetstone to refine the finish and give the stone a higher grip. The Tsushima Nagura – somewhat harder than the Mikawa – is applicable on all whetstones from medium to fine grit, but is especially recommended for hard stones. It performs its task on both synthetic and natural whetstones. The stones we have received are relatively uniform cubes, very homogeneous in their structure and lacquered on 5 sides according to Japanese tradition, leaving only the side open that is rubbed on the stone.
