Flush trim routers with a shaft-side guide ring are used for trimming protruding, laminated coating materials such as veneers to achieve a flat edge surface. The guide ball bearing is centered on the edge of the base plate while the blades remove the excess material. In flush trim routers with a shaft-side guide ring, the cutting edge and guide ring have the same diameter.
