Product information
The new tool, revised by MHG for a boat builder overseas, follows the design of the MHG Timber Tools but with a cutting edge angled at approximately 5°. This makes it particularly suitable for working on a boat hull, as well as in any situation where a straight-edged tool would be obstructive.
Manufactured using a new forging process, these tools are characterized by high cutting edge retention, elasticity, and durability. With a high level of microstructure density and the heat treatment quality of high-alloy CV steel, these tools achieve performance characteristics that were previously reserved only for hand-forged tools.
MHG chisels have a hardness of 61 ± 1 HRC along the entire usable length.
The oiled handles made from seasoned ash wood are loosely inserted and automatically clamp tight during use. They are equipped with a stable ferrule made from solid steel.
