Product information
These are very stable and compact carpenter’s chisels with a reinforced shaft (up to 15 mm thick) and a length of 23 – 24 cm. They are used in Japan on construction sites for wooden buildings. They are carried in a securely closed belt pouch, allowing for safe movement on scaffolding even at greater heights. The belt pouch is made of very sturdy 3-layered leather, sewn and riveted, ensuring that the sharp edge cannot penetrate. The name originates from the short Japanese secondary sword „Wakizashi.” The cutting layer is made of TASAI Special Blue Steel, specially manufactured exclusively for Tasai.
Very rustic appearance, as the grinding marks remain visible beneath the matte polish. The handle of this version is made of white oak.
