Clamping elements or workpiece hold-downs for planing benches and workbenches have traditionally suffered from the disadvantage that the shaft was fixedly connected to the hold-down part, making them suitable for only one hole size. This resulted in several incompatible systems. One workbench had 3/4 inch holes, another had 20 mm holes, and then there were some exotic ones with 1 inch holes, among others.
Bessey has now solved this problem by separating the hold-down part and the shaft. This way, there are now clamping elements available in various designs with fixed or variable reach, with a two-component handle like on screw clamps, or with a lever handle and eccentric grip. All variants are compatible with the separately available workbench adapters, of which there are 3 different ones with corresponding shafts for 19 mm, 20 mm, and 30 mm holes. If your workbench has any of these hole diameters, you can use all clamping elements of this series. The clamping elements are simply placed onto the adapter part and secured with a hex socket screw.
The clamping elements are also available with variable reach, further increasing the application possibilities. The reach is continuously adjustable. The desired height is set with a knurled screw.
The surface-coated spindle with trapezoidal thread runs smoothly and does not bind.
