Product information
For milling cutters with a left-oriented spiral, a pulling cut is used, producing particularly clean upper groove edges. This is important when the groove edges are meant to remain visible. However, in contrast to right-oriented spirals, the chips are not lifted and are therefore only partially ejected or even pushed downward. Milling with a negative spiral is slightly slower than with a positive spiral. Additionally, the bottom of the groove is not as clean as with a cutter with a right-oriented spiral.
The spiral groove cutters from Sistemi Klein are made of solid carbide (VHM). We have them in stock with shaft sizes of 6 mm, 8 mm, and 12 mm. All cutters are designed for right-turning (standard) machines.
Recommended speeds: The spiral groove cutters are designed for a rotational speed of up to 24,000 RPM. The recommended speed also depends on other factors such as the type of material, the milling depth in one pass, the quality of the machine, and particularly the precision of the holder. We recommend starting at 18,000 RPM and gradually adjusting to find the appropriate speed.
