Why Ground Finish?
As is well known, Kirschen chisels come in a polished finish. The polishing process results in a high-gloss finish of the steel surface, which not only provides a good appearance but also reduces friction when working with wood. However, the downside of this process is that there is always a slight rounding at the edges. In particular, the back side is then no longer completely flat.
