Product information
The router has become perhaps the most versatile machine for woodworkers in recent years, thanks to accessories such as router tables, router lifts, and router fences. In traditional setups, the fixed-base router was the focus and the workpiece was moved. In a horizontal router table, the workpiece is clamped in place while the router moves in two axes. This is achieved through the use of linear guides and carriages, typical in mechanical engineering, onto which a plate construction with a mounted router is attached. Two long linear guides with four carriages facilitate movement along the workpiece. Two short linear guides with four carriages provide feed to the router towards the workpiece.
Guido Henn introduced a horizontal router table without linear guides in issue 44 of the magazine HolzWerken and expanded it with additional linear guides in issue 45. Note: Our linear guides are not the same as those in the HolzWerken construction plan. They are about 50 mm higher and the construction must be adjusted accordingly.
With the complete set as pictured above, you have all the components needed for the guide system of a horizontal router table. Screws are not included.
