Product information
Before the era of machine planers, the first step on rough-sawn boards was carried out with the scrub plane. On old furniture from pre-industrial times, you can still see the traces of the rounded scrub plane iron on the backs and undersides. Its usefulness today is often underestimated: the high and rapid removal of shavings allows for quick reworking of warped boards and slats, and a rustic effect on surfaces is achieved in a much more interesting way than with a texture brush – without dust and noise. The sole is straight, but the iron is rounded. The scrub plane has an overall length of 240 mm and an iron width of 33 mm! The cutting angle is 45°. The plane body is made of beech wood. It usually comes with a simple iron, as the cleanliness of the surface is not the primary concern here.
