They still exist: analog scales with a pointer instead of a battery. These scales, with very acceptable accuracy, are the right choice if you find weight reading via pointer more pleasant. Their design and the striking green paint make them appear as if they are from another era. The casing is made of sheet metal. If you wish to place this scale on a sensitive surface, we recommend attaching felt gliders underneath. The sheet metal indeed has sharp edges on the underside—otherwise, all other areas of the casing are rounded and have no sharp edges. The weighing platform is made of stainless steel. Manufactured by the Japanese measuring instrument maker SHINWA at its branch in China.
Between the casing and the weighing platform, there is a white plastic knurled screw. By turning it, the scale can be calibrated.
