Product information
Craftsmanship perfection is the hallmark of the knives crafted by blacksmith Ito in Fukui. The hard blade core is made of R-2 powder metallurgical steel with a hardness of approximately 63 HRC. The blade is forge-welded with 16 layers of stainless steel on each side. The handle scales are either made of mother-of-pearl or stabilized maple, set with a high-gloss polished ferrule.
How should the specified blade thickness be understood?
We always measure at the middle of the spine. Towards the tang, a blade typically becomes slightly thicker, and towards the tip of the knife, it becomes slightly thinner. We also measure the blade width in the middle.
