Product information

SILIFIX half-round sharpening stone made of silicon carbide is ideal for sharpening carving tools and cutting tools with special shapes. Use these stones with oil or water, depending on the requirements of the workpiece. Note: Once used with oil, they cannot be used with water anymore. In an emergency, these sharpening stones can also be used dry. Avoid side pressure, as the thin rods can break!

Note on the designations coarse - medium - fine: These serve only as an addition to distinguish the stones colloquially among themselves, but not to compare them with other stones where completely different standards may apply. A fine 280 grit sharpening rod is not a fine Japanese water stone! If you compare the grit designation as a number, i.e., 100 - 180 - 280, then both types are comparable because the European standard (FEPA F) and the Japanese standard (JIS) show little difference in the grit sizes in this range.
