The cutting edges of these spiral groove cutters are interrupted to increase the speed of chip removal. They are used where speed is more important than a clean surface, such as structural parts without visible wood joints. Their application is essentially the same as the spiral groove cutters with continuous cutting edges described above. These bits must only be used in stationary setups, such as a router mounted in a router table.
