For over 100 years, LIOGIER has been manufacturing exceptionally high-quality hand-cut rasps in the Auvergne region of France. At one point, it was one of the largest manufacturers in Europe for these tools, yet it remains virtually unknown outside of France.
Hand-cut riffler rasps differ significantly from machine-cut ones. They remove material much more efficiently while providing surprisingly good surface quality thanks to the ultra-sharp irregularly cut teeth.
LIOGIER produces only on order. Therefore, we always have a selection of their rasps in stock to deliver to you immediately.
Riffler rasps are designed for working on hard-to-reach areas. There are 8 models available, each with 2 different shapes out of a total of 13 different shapes.
The cuts of the Liogier rasps are numbered from No. 1 to No. 15, with No. 1 being the coarsest and No. 15 the finest. Riffler rasps are available with cuts from 8 to 15, with cuts 11 to 13 being the most commonly used in practice.
