The Double Plane Smoothing Plane with Fine Iron Adjustment!
This feature makes the correct and fine adjustment of the iron significantly easier than with traditional planes that use a wooden wedge.
It is called a double plane because these planes have a chipbreaker (also called a cap iron) which functions to break the removed shaving. This prevents the wood from being torn from the surface before the blade, which would cause the planed surface to become uneven. The German double planes have a cutting angle of 45° and an iron width of 48 mm.
