Hairline rulers are used to check surfaces for flatness and straightness. They are made from hardened special steel and have a tapered measuring edge. The measuring edge itself is slightly rounded, as it would otherwise be too delicate and should not cut. The hairline rulers we offer are non-reflective due to their burnished finish, which prevents reflections, but they are not rustproof.
The ruler is placed with the measuring edge on the surface to be checked. In backlight, a light gap can be seen in the event of unevenness, which indicates whether the surface is flat or not. Under favorable lighting conditions, it is possible to see a light gap significantly smaller than 1/100 mm.
Accuracy/flatness of the edge according to DIN 874 GG-00 = 3/1000 mm, with hand warmth protection made of plastic on the upper edge, delivered in a faux leather case. Pictured is the 150 mm long ruler. Only the hairline ruler is delivered, the delivery does not include the plane shown.
