Blade cranked for flush cuts to the surface.
In contrast to German folding fine saws, the English ones are set only on one side. This advantage allows you to cut flush very cleanly even into difficult corners, but it also has the disadvantage that the saw cut can drift when cutting freehand. Therefore, there should always be a surface, e.g., in the form of a strip, placed on the back of the blade. The freehand cut is best made with the straight fine saw.
