Panel Clamp
VERITAS

Product information

With this gluing clamp, boards can be glued into panels without the unpleasant effect of the clamped boards warping or even springing apart.

VERITAS gluing clamps keep the side-by-side boards in shape during gluing, preventing any bending or springing apart! The round shafts are ribbed to prevent them from slipping out of the holes on their own. The wooden strip for the holes can be of any length. At least two gluing clamps are required for shorter workpieces, while longer pieces need correspondingly more clamps.

Depending on the thickness and width of the workpiece, the wooden strips or square timbers should have a diameter of approximately 5 × 5 to 5 × 10 cm. You can use either hardwood or softwood for this. Mark the holes on at least two strips – ideally no more than about 6 cm apart – and drill with a 19 mm wood drill. The outer holes should be at least 4 cm away from the end of the strip or cross-secured with screws.

Place the finished gluing clamp device on a flat surface. Insert the part with the threaded spindle into the first hole. You can adjust a rubber ring so that the pressing block pushes into the center of the board edges. Apply glue to the edges of the boards, lay them side by side, and push them together, then insert the round block (the other part of the gluing clamp) into the next free hole. Now place the second hole strip on top, press it down, and tighten the clamp. Once tension is created, the upper strip cannot slide up.

A multi-gluing device is easily created. Drill the holes through timbers at least 9 cm thick, then you can glue in multiple layers. This saves space, material, and time.
