These compass points can be attached to all rulers or angles up to a thickness of 6.5 mm. Thanks to the slender bodies, the smallest possible radius is only 15 mm. The detachable points create clearly visible lines on any wood and also work on aluminum, brass, bronze, and softer types of steel. Without the points, the bodies can also be used as stops. Clamping them onto an angle greatly facilitates the repeated marking of angles.
The design of these compass points is inspired by a historical model seen at a woodworking exhibition. The Veritas version is made of stainless steel, so rust is not an issue. The points feature a knurled section to make them easier to loosen.
These compass points, made in Canada, have a diameter of about 14 mm and are 70 mm long.
