Pinie from the Czech Republic builds very heavy workbenches with an extra thick benchtop, adding weight which is very important for a workbench. Even under heavy use, such as planing, nothing wobbles, an advantage that lighter workbenches cannot offer. With workbenches from other manufacturers, the benchtop itself is typically significantly thinner than the bench dog rail, but with Pinie, both parts are equally thick. The tops consistently have a thickness of 120 mm, the vertical legs have a cross-section of 80 × 80 mm, and the cross braces are 95 × 40 mm. For us, the Pinie workbenches are manufactured with 19 mm bench dog holes. The 19 mm system has the advantage that the extensive range of bench dogs from Veritas and workpiece holders is available. With no other bench dog diameter do you have so many options to optimally secure your workpieces on the bench surface for every type of processing.
