The heavy mortise chisels from the „Wood Line Profi” series by Narex are equipped with an ergonomic handle made of dark glazed beech. The handles are slightly oval with a diameter of 36 × 33 mm, preventing them from rolling away. A mortising depth of up to 140 mm is possible. The overall length of all sizes is 30 cm. The blade thickness is 9 mm at the bevel and 12 mm at the transition to the tang. Comes with a plastic blade guard.
The bevel angle is ground to 25°. When working with hardwood, we recommend grinding a secondary bevel to create a bevel angle of 30°. This secondary bevel should be no more than 0.5 to 1 mm long. This makes the cutting edge more robust. Note: Hard knots in soft spruce wood should be treated as hardwood on the tool side.
