Product information
Even with this angle, you can reliably mark lines around edges without slipping. The polycarbonate material is transparent, which allows for better control of the markings.
*Features of the elongated and round marking holes
*The manufacturer SHINWA developed this miter angle specifically for markings on „2 x 4 Lumber.” Here you can see the alignment of this product with the American market. It concerns rough-sawn construction lumber with a cross-section of 2 × 4 inches (50.8 × 101.6 mm). After drying and planing, about 1.5 × 3.5 inches (approximately 38 × 89 mm) remain. The two plates arranged at an angle are therefore precisely aligned in their dimensions of 38 × 89 mm to timbers of these sizes.
What do the elongated marking holes labeled 1/4, 1/3, and 1/2 mean? Without further measuring, they allow for the simplest scribing of lap joints and two differently sized finger joints.
The round marking holes allow for the precise placement of screws when the timbers are not connected with traditional wood joints but merely with screws.
Planed timbers of these dimensions are hardly found in Europe. Even if you disregard these very specific additional features, this miter angle made of transparent material is a good choice for a variety of applications.
