A fascinating gift – these are the two working models in 1:3 scale of the Veritas marking gauges with one or two cutter wheels. In the range of miniature tools available from Veritas, they are the latest representatives.
Both are 57 mm long and weigh just under 13 and 20 g, respectively. The small dimensions and the sensitive control give the impression of scoring a line with your fingers rather than with a tool.
Like their full-sized counterparts, they cut (rather than tear) fibers to leave clear markings even across the grain. They feature eccentric reference faces for a secure hold. The cutter at the end of the rod ensures precise transfer of measurements.
The marking gauge with two cutter wheels allows for setting two measurements simultaneously, enabling quick changes when transferring or marking repeating measurements.
Made from stainless steel with brass reference faces, the marking gauges are delivered in a matching faux leather box.
