This telescopic pruner from the Japanese manufacturer NISHIGAKI is extendable up to 3 meters. When retracted, it has a length of 177 cm. The comfortable handle can be locked to ensure that the pruner remains securely closed. The second handle, the one a right-handed person usually holds with the left hand, can be moved and rotated freely on the anodized aluminum rod. It is fixed with a knurled screw, allowing you to adjust the optimal working position yourself.
Before extending the rod, the handle must be opened. The extension can be pulled out after the lever on the red sleeve, located at the top end of the rod, is flipped. Once the desired length is set, the lever is locked back into place.
The pruner has a blade length of 60 mm and cuts using the bypass principle, where two cutting blades glide past each other. This results in a clean and smooth cut surface. The cut material is held in place by fixing notches as long as you keep the handle closed. This way, the cut material does not simply fall off or get stuck somewhere; instead, it can be purposefully placed at the desired location. For this reason, this pruner is also suitable for gentle harvesting of fruits, such as apples.
This telescopic pruner becomes even more versatile with the included saw blade, which can be mounted at the end of the extendable part under the pruner using a wing screw. This allows you to cut branches thicker than 15 mm as well.
