Product information
This traditionally crafted series of relatively small saws is primarily intended for artisans. The saw blades are through-hardened, allowing you to perform a variety of very clean cuts on smaller workpieces. To make it easier to distinguish between the different toothings, symbols on the handle indicate the intended use. These saws are feather-light and, in addition to their high utility value, they are also a delight to the eye.
Dowels are easily and conveniently cut with the dowel saw (Kugihiki).
Daizo Mitsukawa was born in 1961 and lives and works in Miki City, Hyogo Prefecture. He is one of the younger sawmakers in Japan and continues the tradition of his father, Juntaro Mitsukawa.
In addition to traditional professional saws for everyday craftsmanship, Mitsukawa produces a high-end series that is almost exclusively handmade. These saws are used in Japan for the restoration of significant shrines and temples. The use of an industrially manufactured saw is prohibited out of respect for the historical object.
With his work, he makes an important contribution to the preservation of Japan’s cultural heritage. All saws by Mitsukawa are not suitable for beginners!
