The Flexcut Knife Strop features a 20 × 5 cm area covered with a leather strip, specifically designed for honing and sharpening knife blades. The knife blade is simply stroked away from the edge on both sides to maintain its original sharpness. The strop can be clamped or used freehand and is flat and sturdy. Included in the package is a 28-g piece of Flexcut Gold polishing compound, which adheres to the leather surface of the strop by rubbing.
How do I sharpen the blades?
Simply apply plenty of polishing compound on the strop and pull the blade over the strop in the opposite direction of the cutting edge at an angle of about 15°. Repeat this process several times on both sides of the blade.
How often should I sharpen?
Regular use keeps the tool beautifully sharp and safe to use. When working with soft woods, honing every 20 to 30 minutes is recommended; for hardwoods, more frequent stropping and more strokes over the strop are required.
How do I apply the polishing compound on the strop?
The Flexcut Gold polishing compound is specially developed for application by simply rubbing the block on the surface of the strop. The surface to be used should be generously covered with the compound.
