Initially, we were skeptical when these extremely affordable Japanese planes were offered to us. Can there be reasonable quality at this price? We had some of the small bench planes from this product line tested by carpenters – all of them praised the quality of the iron highly. It is easy to sharpen and holds its edge very well. The wooden block is somewhat rustic and requires refinement. The irons are forged from two layers of steel.
These handy small planes in affordable and good quality assist in many specialized tasks where you cannot proceed with other tools. A good addition to your other Japanese tools!
For many delicate tasks, small hand planes are indispensable. Japanese hand planes are not ready to use and require some adjustments from the user, especially reworking the plane mouth is necessary.
