Closer to Western sawing habits, this saw’s design features an angled pistol grip. Typically, the blades of Japanese saws are wider at the front than at the handle. However, this saw maintains a consistent blade width of 63 mm, reminiscent of a Western fine saw despite its pull-cut application. This saw is precisely matched in form with the miter box from the same manufacturer, designed for miter cuts and right-angle cuts. Together, they make a perfect pair. The hardened tooth tips ensure a long service life. The saw blade can be changed quickly and easily. The tooth configuration is optimized for crosscuts and diagonal cuts. While it is possible to perform occasional rip cuts, this saw is not nearly as fast as a dedicated rip saw for such tasks.
