This saw is designed for rip, cross, and diagonal cuts in dry wood, meaning wood used in interior construction and furniture making. Since this saw does not have a back, deep cuts are possible. Note: Like all Japanese saws, this saw cuts on the pull stroke. This allows the blade to be very thin, with the advantage of producing less waste.
