The blades of this Japanese hedge shear are made from two layers of steel. The low-alloy Aogami steel, known for its very high edge retention, is forge-welded with a softer carrier material, a traditional method in blade manufacturing. The hardness is approximately 64 to 65 HRC – unusually high for hedge shears. Handles made from Japanese white oak. Maximum branch thickness 12 mm!
