INCRA 5 Inch Guaranteed Square

The two arms are cut from a single piece of hardened aluminum. Errors during assembly, such as those possible with two-part angles, are therefore not possible.

The angle part is made of gold-colored anodized aluminum. The stop is two-part and mounted in such a way that part of the angle part still lies flat when measurements are taken. This stop is made of red anodized aluminum. Since these angles are relatively thick, see the table with dimensions below, they also weigh quite a bit. The small angle weighs just under 400 g, the large one just under 500! Guaranteed accuracy: 0.001 inch (0.03 mm) maximum deviation over the entire length of the arm.

Some time ago, we asked for suggestions for a suitable German name for the „INCRA Guaranteed Square.” We thank you for the numerous suggestions! We have now decided on „Präzisionswinkel mit Anschlag” (Precision Angle with Stop). The awarded angle goes to Ralf W., who kindly also provided the reasoning for the suggestion: "The presented ‚INCRA Guaranteed Square’ is primarily a control angle, which in German parlance, if accurate enough, is also referred to as a precision angle. The presented ‚control angle’ is additionally equipped with a stop, so that it can also be used for marking like a classic carpenter’s square. However, the precision is likely only ensured for the control function, as the screwed-on stop is not required here. For the marking function, the accuracy is not guaranteed due to the screwed-on stop, as the angle is also two-part here, just like a ‚two-part’ (carpenter’s) angle. This does not detract from the angle, however, since an accuracy in the hundredths of a millimeter range is not relevant for marking, as opposed to checking."

We also thank the entrants who did not win an angle. We spontaneously decided to honor the most unusual suggestion with an angle as well. This second angle goes to Semih Ö. His suggestion: "Garantoakurat."
