Product information
Really hard woods are rarely found in traditional woodworking in Japan. Even the native white oak there is not nearly as hard as the oak native to Europe. Therefore, the tooth geometry of Japanese saws is generally optimized for soft and semi-hard woods. When these saws are used for cutting hardwoods, it can happen that individual teeth break off when beech, oak, or even tropical hardwood is being sawn. We are now pleased to offer relatively inexpensive hardwood saws from the renowned Japanese saw manufacturer Z-Saw. These saws are equipped with a replaceable blade, which can be easily replaced if it breaks or becomes dull. This saw is universally suitable for rip cuts, crosscuts, and diagonal cuts, and is therefore very well suited, for example, for dovetailing hardwood. A small tip: with hardwood, you must saw much more precisely than with softwood. In softwood, some connections that are not sawn quite accurately may „compress” and with luck, the flaw is hardly visible. Hardwood does not forgive these mistakes.
Teeth are impulse-hardened and therefore not resharpenable
