All you need are 3/4-inch or 19-mm holes and some space beneath the holes for the shaft of this workpiece holder.
It is hardly possible to list all the advantages that this workpiece holder brings you. Wherever a 19 mm hole can be drilled, you can operate this holder with one hand. Once it is in position, turn the brass knob to apply the desired pressure. Usually, one to two turns are sufficient.
This holder shows its strengths especially with large workpieces, such as doors, which can be clamped in front of the planer when corresponding holes are placed in the front of the bench hook rail.
The edge of a board can also be planed very well when it is clamped in front of the planer. On the left side of the image, you see the workpiece holder, while on the right, the board is held in the desired position by a round Veritas bench hook.
