Product information
MHG log house chisels are an ideal and indispensable hand tool for the professional construction of log and timber frame houses. The new series follows the turn-of-the-century design, in the form developed by Barr Tools with a handle inserted into the ferrule.
Manufactured using a new forging process, these tools are characterized by high edge retention, elasticity, and durability. With a high degree of structural compaction and the heat treatment quality of high-alloy CV steel, performance characteristics are achieved that were previously reserved only for hand-forged tools. MHG log house chisels have a hardness of 61 HRC (+/- 1) across the entire working length.
The oiled handles made from seasoned ash wood are only loosely inserted and automatically clamp firmly when in use.
