Indexable flush trim bits are used wherever high repeatability is required. This is not the case with a standard bit because after each resharpening, some material is removed, causing the bits to become slightly smaller in dimension. When an indexable insert becomes dull, it is simply replaced with a new one. Indexable bits are particularly worthwhile with frequent use of the router, as they save you setup time, costs, and trips to the sharpening service. Especially with bits featuring a guide ring, such as flush trim bits, it is important that the cutters are always aligned with the guide ring. This is only permanently ensured with indexable insert bits; with a normal flush trim bit, you already have a – albeit minimal – offset after the first sharpening. Another advantage of an indexable bit: hidden metal parts in the wood, such as nails, can render a normal bit unusable. With an indexable bit, however, you simply replace the inserts.
The indexable inserts of the flush trim bits have 2 cutting edges, so they only need to be rotated. Only when all cutting edges are worn out are they replaced. Click on „Sketch” or „Image” under the replacement indexable inserts to view the inserts.
The indexable flush trim bits on this page are suitable for all types of wood and wood-based materials. The inserts are made of carbide. Manufactured by Sistemi Klein in Pesaro/Italy.
